Finding the time to turn within and enjoy mindful moments can be difficult...

...that's where yoga comes in. Yoga is so much more than just the asanas (poses). In fact, the asanas are just one of the eight limbs of yoga. Yoga allows us moments on and off the mat to come to our breath. To focus on our selves, our senses, and our connection to others.
“Extremes are easy. Strive for balance.” ~ Colin Wright
A regular yoga practice helps us to remember to keep those mindful moments plentiful as we move through our day off the mat. I find that these moments of peace and clarity that can come from consistent mindful practice balance the noise and chaos that come at me from all directions in my typical day.
Finding balance has been really hard for many people the past few months, myself included. I often find myself thinking about "the before times" when we could go to movies, work, and yoga studios. The more I dwell on those times and what I feel I've "lost" the harder it is for me to get back into a sense of balance. This is when I turn to my practice and what I have gained over the years on my mat. Taking time to check in on my body, my breath, and my thoughts, allowing myself to recognize, label, and understand what is going on within helps me regain my balance.
Find Your Balance
How do you find your #balance? Family, work, home, and don't forget self. Each part of our life can be so demanding of our time. Make sure to carve out moments for mindfulness, whether it's a full yoga practice, or five minutes of meditation. Maybe you find ways to work in other time for yourself, finding mindfulness in creating, or reading, or even enjoying a walk with your dog.
Take the time out for you. The more often you do, the more it will become a habit.
