Yoga is a great way to add more mobility if you are a older adult, have a chronic condition, or deal with pain on a daily basis.

Do you find it hard to incorporate movement into your daily routine because of stiff joints, a changing body, or your chronic condition? Yoga can be a great way to help add movement and can help alleviate some of the symptoms of many chronic conditions. My yoga for seniors class is designed to be accessible to all ages and abilities.

Though it is specifically designed to help those with the body changes of aging after 50, yoga for seniors can be done by anyone. Even those who have been practicing yoga for years enjoy the chance to slow down their practice and focus on form and gentle, mindful moments. Classes are mostly done in standing positions with a chair for support or sitting in the chair.

Is Yoga Really for Me?

Yoga is a great if you're looking to slow age-related declines, decrease the risk of disease, enhance strength, endurance, mood, quality of life, and increase mobility to maintain independence. The list of conditions that can be positively influenced by physical activity is extensive. It ranges from metabolic disease, to mental health conditions, to orthopaedic ailments and cardiovascular disorders. Both men and women can benefit from the #mobility offered through yoga.

But it's not just the physical benefits. Yoga can be ideal for #Boomers and beyond in many other ways. Yogic breathing and meditation can help positively influence mood and emotional states. Chronic pain can be managed through tools of yoga such as awareness, activity-pacing, and self-compassion. For those who experience toxic emotions such as anger and hostility, yoga can counter those emotions through its guiding principles. And most importantly, yoga can help relieve loneliness by welcoming older adults into a positive, accepting, caring community.

Give yourself permission to be open to the benefits of #yoga and #movement that are offered on all levels. The physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits are undeniable. Join the many older adults who are embracing yoga because they want to feel better.
